Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bekayi made a statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Bekayi stated that the management of the Strait of Hormuz belongs to the coastal countries and that charging fees for passage is not in question. Bekayi used the expression, "The services to be provided may require certain costs. This should not be considered as a 'passage fee'."
Referring to the negotiations with the United States, Bekayi noted that a framework has been reached on many issues, but this does not mean that an agreement is near. Spokesperson Bekayi said, "The end of conflicts on all fronts, including Lebanon, will also be part of a possible agreement."
