Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras forms new party
Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras announced the formation of a new party called the 'Greek Left Alliance.'

Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras addressed citizens at Thiseio Square in the capital, Athens. Tsipras announced that he will continue his political career with the newly established Greek Left Alliance (ELAS) party. Criticizing the ruling New Democracy Party for being the cause of the economic crisis that emerged in the country in 2009, Tsipras touched upon the corruption allegations against the government. Tsipras stated, “Our new party, with its red and blue colors, will fight against the injustices and wars prevailing in the world. Greece urgently needs an active and multi-dimensional foreign policy.”
