Trump announces support for Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan in elections

US President Donald Trump announced on his social media account that he will support Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the parliamentary elections to be held on June 7. Emphasizing that Pashinyan is a 'great friend and leader', Trump stated that he has made his country 'strong, prosperous, and extremely secure'. Trump used the expression, “Nikol fully shares my vision for peace and prosperity for Armenia and the entire South Caucasus region.”

Recalling the recent visit of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Armenia, Trump highlighted that 'significant progress in important agreements' was made on behalf of both countries during this visit. Trump noted that the US and Armenia will soon lay the foundation for the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity', which will transform the south of the Caucasus and help American energy companies gain access from Central Asia to the US. Trump stated, “With Nikol's help, we will elevate the US, Armenia, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia to heights never reached before. Make Armenia great again.”
