New Measures Against Ebola Virus from TRNC
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ministry of Health Infectious Diseases Supreme Committee announced the decisions taken regarding the diagnosis and treatment processes of the Ebola virus.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ministry of Health Infectious Diseases Supreme Committee made a statement regarding the Ebola virus, announcing the decisions taken concerning the diagnosis and treatment processes of the disease. The committee's statement emphasized that Ebola is a rare but life-threatening infectious viral infection, noting that it can be transmitted from infected animals and human body fluids. The statement mentioned that symptoms of the disease include fever, chills, shivering, headaches and muscle pain, weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and rash.

In the advanced stages, mucosal bleeding, septic shock, and multiple organ failure may develop, and the disease can result in death. The committee reported that samples taken for the diagnosis of the Ebola virus will be sent to the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health National Public Health Reference Laboratory.

The TRNC Infectious Diseases Supreme Committee emphasized that it continues to closely follow the statements and decisions of international health organizations on the matter, noting that the public will be informed if a situation arises that requires additional measures.
