The United States Central Command reported that an unladen oil tanker heading to an Iranian port in the Persian Gulf was neutralized.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) made a statement on its social media account regarding the unladen oil tanker stopped by US forces. The statement noted that blockade measures were applied to the Botswana-flagged 'M/T Lexie' oil tanker, which was heading towards Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf in international waters. It was stated that the crew on the tanker did not comply with the instructions of the US forces and ignored the warnings, and the tanker was neutralized by a missile fired at the engine room, preventing it from reaching Iran.
