Trump: Agreement with Iran could be reached this weekend
U.S. President Donald Trump said, “They told me the negotiations are going very well. If there is an agreement, it might not happen, but if it does, it could be this weekend.”
U.S. President Donald Trump made remarks to the press regarding current issues following a decree signing ceremony held in the Oval Office. Trump stated that negotiations with Iran are still ongoing, saying, "They told me the negotiations are going very well. If there is an agreement, it might not happen, but if it does, it could be this weekend. If Iran signs the agreement, it will agree not to develop or acquire nuclear weapons. Tehran is very close to accepting this."
Regarding Israel's attacks on Lebanon, Trump said that the process is under control and that the negotiation process with Iran continues. Trump stated, "We met with Hezbollah for the first time. Yesterday, they agreed not to fire on Israel, and Israel will not fire on them."
Emphasizing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a 'good partner' for him, Trump said, "Without us, they couldn't do what they do, they couldn't even come close."
President Trump also mentioned that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened as soon as an agreement with Iran is reached, stating that necessary work is being done on this matter.
