Mohammad Bagheri Zolghadr, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, made a written statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Zolghadr stated that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz depends on the United States changing its stance, saying, “The Strait of Hormuz will not be opened until the US corrects its behavior.”
Zolghadr stated that for the Strait of Hormuz to be opened, the US must 'unconditionally release Iran's frozen assets, end the naval blockade, withdraw naval and air forces from around Iran, lift sanctions, and pay compensation for the last two wars conducted against Iran.' Zolghadr also reminded that the US must end the war against Iran's allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq, not threaten Iran, and 'not insult the sacred values of the Iranian nation.'
