A bilateral meeting with Abdulfattah Kasim Mohamud, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, was held at Azerbaijan’s Media and Broadcasting Council on October 28.
Ahmad Ismayilov, Chairman of the Council, highlighted opportunities to expand Azerbaijan–Somalia cooperation in media and communications, enhance information exchange, and share professional experience. He also emphasized the media’s role in fostering mutual understanding, strengthening bilateral relations, and ensuring public access to objective information.
Somalia’s Minister Abdulfattah Kasim Mohamud expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan, highlighting opportunities for joint media and communications initiatives, stronger professional ties, and collaboration in addressing challenges in the modern information environment.
The meeting also addressed digital media trends, countering disinformation, information security, the impact of artificial intelligence and new technologies on the media sector, and potential areas for further cooperation.
