On July 9, the third meeting of the Joint Working Group between the Ministries of Culture of Azerbaijan and Georgia was held in Baku.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Farid Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Culture, while the Georgian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Culture Giorgi Mirtskhulava.
The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The officials noted that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia provides a solid foundation for the continued expansion of cultural ties.
Deputy Culture Minister Farid Jafarov emphasized that the two countries are united by a shared history, rich cultural heritage, and good-neighborly relations. According to him, bilateral cultural cooperation has gained new momentum in recent years, evolving into a systematic partnership encompassing library science, museum affairs, theater, cultural heritage preservation, fine arts, creative industries, cinema, and digital transformation.
Meanwhile, Georgian Deputy Culture Minister Giorgi Mirtskhulava expressed his country’s interest in further strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties with Azerbaijan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties signed a protocol on the outcomes of the third meeting of the Joint Working Group, outlining key avenues for enhancing cultural cooperation.
