BEU Rector meets with university’s students, winners of IWISE World Final

Baku Engineering University (BEU) Rector Yagub Piriyev met with students who won at the world final of the "International World Innovative Student Exhibition" (IWISE) international innovation competition, held in London, UK.

The meeting was attended by Tahira Baylarova and Ulkar Rahimli, fourth-year students in the "Electrical and Electronics Engineering" specialty of the dual-degree program carried out jointly by BEU and INHA University.

Rector Yagub Piriyev highly praised the students' success at the prestigious international competition, noting that the achieved result is a source of pride. He noted that the high results demonstrated by the students on the international stage show that they have successfully integrated the theoretical knowledge they gained at BEU in engineering, robotics, and innovation with practical skills. Yagub Piriyev emphasized that supporting students' innovative ideas, developing their practical and research-oriented skills, as well as expanding opportunities for participation in prestigious competitions and projects, will continue to receive attention going forward. At the same time, he gave the students advice regarding their future career and educational directions, stating that the university is ready to continuously support their future activities.

Tahira Baylarova and Ulkar Rahimli also shared their impressions of participating in the IWISE competition and the results they achieved during the meeting. The students noted that competing in the contest, which featured participants representing 25 countries (the USA, China, Türkiye, etc.), was a valuable experience for them. They also expressed their gratitude for the attention and support shown to them.

It should be noted that Tahira Baylarova was awarded 1st place in the "Labyrinth" category, completing the task in 4.11 seconds among 18 competing teams, while Ulkar Rahimli was awarded 1st place in the "Robosoccer" category among 14 competing teams.

Held in London on August 2-7, the IWISE competition serves as an international platform for young people to showcase their knowledge and skills in creativity, science, technology, engineering, robotics, and innovation. The participation of the Azerbaijani delegation in the competition was ensured with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
