Pope's Call for Gaza
The Vatican State President and spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, said, “I urge all authorities to help the people of Gaza, to accompany them with their aid, and to start reconstruction efforts.”

The Vatican State President and spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, made a statement regarding the treatment of Global Sumud Flotilla activists detained by the Israeli army in international waters of the Mediterranean. The Pope stated, “We must make a new call for respect for human rights for everyone there.”

Addressing the difficult situation in Gaza, the Pope said, “Unfortunately, the people of Gaza still cannot receive humanitarian aid. This leads to protests, difficulties, and even actions by those who join the flotilla. I want to repeat this, this is not an invitation, it is a call. I urge all authorities to help the people of Gaza, to accompany them with their aid, and to start reconstruction efforts. People are still truly suffering. Hatred and violence lead to bad outcomes everywhere,” he said.
