Steel bridge collapsed due to Hans storm in Norway
A railway bridge made of steel collapsed in the flood caused by excessive rainfall brought by the Hans storm, which was effective in Norway.

Norwegian railway company Bane Nor stated that the storm Hans, which was effective in the country, caused flooding in the Lagen River and on 9 August, the 172.5-metre steel Randklev Bridge, over which the railway passes, broke in the middle. Officials said in a statement yesterday that the bridge, through which the railway line connecting the capital Oslo and the city of Trondheim passes, completely collapsed in the middle. In the statement, it was emphasised that the foundation of the bridge built in 1957 was also damaged and the railway was closed to transportation.

"There is no danger of the bridge drifting downstream. However, we want to get (the collapsed section) out of the water as soon as possible in order to ensure the flow of water in Lagen and to be able to build a bridge over the river. We are working on further safety measures and cordoning off the area so that people do not approach the bridge."
