Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi kicks off three-day official visit to Pakistan

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi kicked off a three-day official visit to Islamabad at the invitation of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. This marks Wang Yi’s second visit to Pakistan in three years.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks are expected to cover political, economic and security cooperation. Wang Yi is visiting Pakistan to co-chair with the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister the 6th round of Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue being held on Thursday.

Earlier on his arrival, Deputy Prime Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at Nur Khan Airbase, where senior officials from the Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy were present. Children in traditional attire presented flowers to the visiting dignitary.

According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi is visiting Pakistan and holding the Sixth Round of China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
