US Vice President Vance: We've Made Progress in Talks with Iran
US Vice President JD Vance said, “Following President Donald Trump's rejection of the latest proposal from Iran, we have made progress in negotiations with Iran.”

US Vice President Vance answered journalists' questions about the Iran agenda at a press conference held at the White House. Vance stated that Iran needs to present a proposal confirming it will not possess nuclear weapons.

Emphasizing that talks with Iranian officials are ongoing, Vance said, “This morning, I spoke on the phone with both Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, as well as some of our friends in the Arab world. I think we are making progress. The fundamental question is whether we have made enough progress to meet the President's red line. The President must be assured that we have taken a series of protective measures to ensure that Iran can never possess nuclear weapons.”

Vance stated that progress was made in the meetings in Islamabad, saying, “There have been advances in the subsequent process as well, but Tehran has not yet reached the point we want to see regarding nuclear weapons.”
