Trump: We do not accept tolls in the Strait of Hormuz
U.S. President Donald Trump reacted to Iran's attempts to charge commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that it is an international waterway and they will not allow tolls.

U.S. President Donald Trump answered questions from journalists about the agenda after attending an event at the White House. Upon being reminded of reports that the Tehran administration is preparing to impose fees on commercial passages in the Strait of Hormuz by contacting Oman, Trump stated that they are closely monitoring the situation. Emphasizing the international status of the strait, Trump said, “We are examining this issue and are aware of the developments. We do not want tolls; it is an international waterway. We will see what happens.”

Claiming that they have militarily defeated Tehran, Trump pointed out that the negotiation process is ongoing and emphasized that they will absolutely not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons. Trump stated that the naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports is being carried out very effectively and noted that the navy is performing a successful mission in the region. Trump argued that no ship can enter or exit Iranian ports without the approval of American forces.

Answering a question about the fate of highly enriched uranium, Trump stated that the U.S. will take delivery of this material. Trump noted that they do not need the said uranium and will most likely destroy it, emphasizing that they will not allow the material to remain in Iran's hands under any circumstances.
