Melania Trump, wife of U.S. President Donald Trump, announced on her social media account that a regional ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine has begun. Trump stated that the main purpose of the regional ceasefire is to ensure the safe passage of humanitarian aid convoys, and that the ceasefire covers the city of Oleshky in the Kherson region. Trump said, “The ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia came into effect at 04:00 AM Moscow time on October 27. Details regarding the regional ceasefire have also been confirmed by the Chief of the General Staff of Russia, Valery Gerasimov.”
