A long-envisioned amphitheatre has opened beside the Nova Gorica theatre house, bringing a fresh stage to the city's cultural life just in time for its Capital of Culture title.
The theatre building in the city is a major landmark, the biggest project undertaken by post-Modernist architect Vojteh Ravnikar (1943-2010). It opened in 1994, and the amphitheatre had already been part of Ravnikar's plans in the early 1990s ,DHA Press quotes CE Report.
