Azerbaijan joins 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade

The 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) has opened in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China.

Hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and the Fujian provincial government, the fair serves as a key international platform for promoting bilateral and multilateral investment cooperation and discussing global investment trends. The three-day event brings together government officials from 120 countries, 5,000 companies, and over 50,000 businesspeople.

Azerbaijan is participating for the second time, with a delegation led by Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister and co-chair of the Azerbaijan-China Intergovernmental Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission.

Within the 120,000-square-meter exhibition space, Azerbaijan’s unified national stand, titled “Invest in Azerbaijan”, is operating. The stand highlights the country’s macroeconomic indicators, business environment, and investment opportunities.

During President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to China in April 2025, a joint declaration was signed establishing comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and China. This partnership provides a favorable framework for further expanding trade and investment ties between the two countries.

During his recent working visit to China, President Ilham Aliyev met with leaders of six major Chinese companies that are either already investing in Azerbaijan, participating in projects, or planning to do so. Cooperation between Azerbaijan and China continues to grow under the Belt and Road Initiative. Beyond serving as a transport and trade bridge between Asia and Europe, Azerbaijan has also become an important transit hub for China.
