Novruz holiday celebrated solemnly in London

The Novruz holiday was celebrated with great enthusiasm and solemnity in London.

The event was organized by members of the Azerbaijan Society operating at Queen Mary University of London, Davud Jabiyev and Farhad Garaisa, as well as Farida Panahova, Head of the British Azerbaijani Community.

Azerbaijanis living in the United Kingdom, along with students, took part in the celebration. The organizers who addressed the event provided information about the ancient history of Novruz and its significance as a symbol of renewal, unity, and the arrival of spring.

In the artistic part of the program, Vusala Babayeva, a laureate of international competitions and Presidential scholarship holder, performed selections from Azerbaijani and world classical music.

As part of the holiday program, traditional Novruz attributes such as semeni (sprouted wheat), candles, and national decorative elements were displayed. An exhibition of works by Azerbaijani artists and craftsmen was also organized. At the end of the event, participants were treated to shekerbura and pakhlava.
