ANAS President, Academician Isa Habibbeyli met with a delegation led by Rector of Petre Andrei University of Iași, recipient of the Romanian Academy’s “Vasile Conta” Prize, Professor PhD Sorin Bocancea.
Highlighting strong Azerbaijan–Romania relations, Isa Habibbeyli stressed the need to expand scientific and educational cooperation and described joint initiatives as key drivers of future collaboration.
Rector Sorin Bocancea outlined his university’s profile, noted a recent “POLIS” journal event at Garabagh University, and expressed interest in strengthening scientific cooperation with ANAS and Azerbaijani universities.
Associate Professor Sabin Drăgulin, Executive Director of the journal “POLIS,” provided a comprehensive overview of the publication’s history, manuscript selection principles, and international engagement. He noted that the journal is published in Romanian, English, German, and Italian and is recognized within the international academic community, extending an invitation to Azerbaijani researchers for collaboration.
As part of the meeting, a special issue of “POLIS” dedicated to Azerbaijan was presented to Academician Isa Habibbeyli.
The delegation concluded their visit with a tour of the ANAS Presidium building and an overview of its history.
