Shusha hosts Gastronomy Day as ECO Tourism Capital

On April 28, the Gastronomy Day was held as part of “Shusha – ECO Tourism Capital for 2026”, organized by the State Tourism Agency in partnership with the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

In his remarks, Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, emphasized the significance of the event, noting that such events are not limited to the presentation of various cuisines, but also serve to establish and develop people-to-people contacts.

Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, underlined that organization of gastronomic events in Shusha has already become a tradition.

ECO Secretary General Asad Majeed Khan stated that the Gastronomy Day held in Shusha, the city designated as the ECO Tourism Capital for 2026, served as a vivid showcase of the rich culinary heritage and cultural diversity of the member states.

According to him, such initiatives contribute to further strengthening tourism, cultural and economic cooperation among the ECO member countries.

Culinary experts from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan showcased distinctive culinary samples at open-air stands, offering them to visitors for tasting.

The event concluded with an artistic program.
