Adil Karimli, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture, met with Aruna Gujral, Director-General of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), in Rome, Italy.
The meeting focused on the ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and ICCROM.
Aruna Gujral praised Azerbaijan’s rapid restoration operations in its liberated territories, as well as the country’s efforts aimed at restoring the cultural heritage in these areas.
Culture Minister Adil Karimli noted that Azerbaijan places special emphasis on preserving and restoring cultural heritage, while also briefing the ICCROM Director-General on the country’s broad efforts in this area.
The discussions reviewed the potential signing of an agreement between Azerbaijan and ICCROM, organizing a tour to the liberated territories, and familiarizing the organization with the conservation and restoration of the cultural heritage there.
The two sides also reached an agreement to enable the Azerbaijani specialists to operate at ICCROM within the organization’s "Secondment" program to gain international expertise and improve their professional skills.
In conclusion, the Azerbaijani Culture Minister invited the ICCROM Director-General to attend the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
