The Hong Kong-flagged ship named 'Joseph Schulte' loaded with containers departing from Odessa Port of Ukraine entered the Bosphorus around 06.00 from the Black Sea off the coast of the Black Sea accompanied by the Coast Guard and pilot ships. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure made a written statement about the ship.

In the statement, "The 'Cargo Ship' named Joseph Schulte, which has been staying in Odessa Port since February 2022, when the Russia-Ukraine war started, entered the Bosphorus from the north and was escorted by our Rescue-6 Tugboat belonging to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure at 06.10 today and pilotage service was provided with our Pilot Captain. Joseph Schulte is a Hong Kong flagged container ship carrying 2114 containers. It is the first vessel to leave Odessa Port since 16 July after Russia's withdrawal from the Grain Corridor agreement. Ships subject to the Grain Corridor were able to leave Odessa port as of 1 August 2022, but since the container ship in question was a container ship and did not carry bulk grain and grain products, it could not leave Odessa port within the scope of the Grain Corridor Agreement. The ship crossed the Bosphorus and anchored in the Istanbul Regional Port Authority Anchorage area."
