İSTANBUL, (DHA) DHMI Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager Hüseyin Keskin, AZANS Air Traffic Department Director Farhan Guliyev and officials attended the signing ceremony held at Istanbul Airport.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hüseyin Keskin said that two major organisations of two countries have initiated a very important cooperation. Stating that they are proud to walk together with AZANS towards common strategic goals and that the two organisations will join forces, Keskin said, "We are taking the first step together with the vision of having a say in much larger geographies starting from the region. The Regional Air Navigation Services Cooperation Platform for European and Asian Countries 'SOCEA', which will start to operate with the protocol, will be an important step not only for the aviation of the two countries, but also for global aviation."
EFFECTIVENESS IN AIR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT OF THE REGION WILL INCREASE
Stating that the main purpose of SOCEA is to ensure co-operation for air navigation services in the region and to increase the efficiency of air traffic management, Keskin said:
"SOCEA will also continue its activities as a Regional Air Navigation Services Cooperation Platform for European and Asian Countries. SOCEA is an international co-operation platform for air navigation safety and is open to the participation of other countries in the region. Our next step is to increase international cooperation in the field of air navigation and the effectiveness of the region before international organisations by encouraging other countries to participate in the region."
Farhan Guliyev, Director of the Air Traffic Department of AZANS, said: "The creation of a platform to ensure the safety of flights is one of the important breakthroughs for both countries and other countries. On the basis of the creation of this platform, I hope that very important work will be done in the future."
After the speeches, Keskin and Guliyev signed the SOCEA protocol.
