China sanctions two US companies for supplying arms to Taiwan
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning announced that China will impose sanctions on two US defence industry manufacturers Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman for providing weapons to Taiwan.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ning made the following statement at his daily press conference today;

"The US government is deliberately supplying weapons to China's Taiwan region, ignoring China's strong opposition. This seriously violates the one-China principle and the terms of the three Sino-US joint statements, contravenes international law and the basic norms governing international relations, and undermines China's sovereignty and security interests.

LOCKHEED MARTIN AND NORTHROP GUNMAN COMPANIES

The United States is going further down the wrong and dangerous path of arming Taiwan. On 24 August, Lockheed Martin Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri, directly participated in the US arms sale to Taiwan as prime contractor. Northrop Grumman has participated in several US arms sales to Taiwan. In accordance with the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, China has decided to impose sanctions on the two US defence companies named above.

OTHERWISE THEY WILL FACE CHINA'S RESOLUTE RESPONSE

I would like to emphasise that the Chinese government will never compromise on its determination to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. We call on the US to earnestly abide by the one-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US joint statements, stop arms sales to Taiwan, end military collusion with Taiwan and stop arming Taiwan, otherwise it will face China's resolute reaction."
