“The Zangezur corridor discussed today is of strategic importance for Azerbaijan, the Caucasus, and the entire Turkic world. This project is vital not only for the two countries but also for regional states, including those in Central Asia, such as Uzbekistan,” said Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, during the panel discussion titled “Zangezur Corridor: A Bridge Uniting the Turkic World.” The session is being held as part of the Solidarity Forum of NGOs from the OTS Member Countries in Baku.
Bekmurodov noted that the Zangezur corridor will strengthen economic ties, expand regional transit opportunities, and promote lasting peace in the region.
Underscoring the corridor’s vital role in advancing both regional unity and the common development of the Turkic world, he added: “Uzbekistan is closely following the benefits of this project and is interested in enhancing regional cooperation. We must work together, share experiences, and assess mutually beneficial opportunities to move forward effectively.”
