Anthony Rota, Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, introduced 98-year-old former soldier Yaroslav Hunka as a 'war hero' after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address on Friday 22 September. In the following days, it was revealed that Hunka was in fact a former Nazi soldier. Rota apologised, saying that he was entirely responsible for the incident.
US State Department Spokesperson Miller was asked about the events in the Canadian House of Commons at a press conference yesterday. Miller replied, "I must admit that I was at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday and attended a number of meetings. I am not sure which event you are talking about," Miller replied.
"EVERYONE WAS THERE MATTHEW"
In a social media post on Miller's statements, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zakharova said, "Everyone was there on Friday, Matthew. Everyone saw the victory of Nazism in Canada. There are many problems at the UN, but the internet works great there."
