Baptist Hospital (Al-Ahli Arab Hospital) in the Gaza Strip was attacked yesterday evening. The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that hundreds of patients and civilians were killed in the attack. World leaders and international organizations reacted to the attack and issued messages of condemnation.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his horror at the attack, saying, "I am appalled by the killing of hundreds of Palestinian civilians in an attack on a hospital in Gaza and strongly condemn this attack. My heart goes out to the families of the victims. Hospitals and medical staff are protected under international humanitarian law."
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said: "I am deeply saddened by the attack on Al-Ahli Hospital and the high death toll. There is no excuse for striking a hospital full of medical staff and civilians. All the facts must be uncovered and those responsible must be held to account."
Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), said: "WHO strongly condemns the attack on Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in northern Gaza. Initial reports indicate hundreds of dead and wounded. We call for the immediate protection of civilians and health services and the reversal of evacuation orders."

In a post on his social media account regarding the attack on the hospital, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "Striking a hospital with women, children and innocent civilians is the latest example of Israel's attacks devoid of the most basic human values. I call on all of humanity to take action to stop this unprecedented atrocity in Gaza."
US President Biden used the word 'explosion' in his message and said, "I am outraged and deeply saddened by the explosion at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza and the terrible loss of life that resulted."
Spanish Minister of Social Rights Ione Balerra said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must be stopped, "I have no words. This must stop now. They are violating all international humanitarian law. Netanyahu must be stopped."
French President Macron said, "Nothing can justify hitting a hospital. Nothing justifies targeting civilians. France condemns the attack on the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza that killed many Palestinians. Our thoughts are with them. All aspects of the events must be clarified."
