Marijana Kujundžić: Efforts underway to attract European investment in Azerbaijan’s renewable energy sector

“Economic cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan continues to expand. The European Commission is working to attract private investment from European companies in Azerbaijan’s strategic economic sectors, including renewable energy,” said Marijana Kujundžić, Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan, while addressing the EU–Azerbaijan Business Forum in Baku.

She emphasized that the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan is actively contributing to these efforts, noting that predictable investment conditions and a level playing field are particularly important for European companies seeking to invest in Azerbaijan.

Noting that two rounds of talks had already been held in Brussels and Baku, with the process still underway, the EU ambassador added: “Energy remains a key pillar of EU–Azerbaijan bilateral cooperation. Azerbaijan is an important energy supplier to the EU via the Southern Gas Corridor, while cooperation in renewable energy, wind power and the green transition continues to grow.”
