Chinese FM highlights Azerbaijan's energy project and importance of Middle Corridor

“China plans to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Montenegro in the fields of energy, transport infrastructure, the green economy, and artificial intelligence,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday as he commented on the outcomes of his visits to Azerbaijan, Croatia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria.

The article, posted in the Romanian publication "Financial Intelligence", states that Wang Yi described the solar power plant in Azerbaijan’s Gobustan region as the country’s first large-scale new energy project and presenting it as one of the tangible outcomes of cooperation with China in the field of green energy. He also said that cooperation with China helped Bulgaria become one of Europe’s leading countries in terms of installed capacity for electricity storage.

The article also highlights that China attaches special importance to aligning projects implemented under the Belt and Road Initiative with the Middle Corridor. The Middle Corridor, which provides transport connectivity between Asia and Europe, plays a significant role in expanding Azerbaijan’s international transit and logistics capabilities.

According to the Foreign Minister, China will strive to make more effective use of the existing cooperation potential with the four countries, and to enhance the economic outcomes of joint projects.
