Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with President Vladimir Putin in Russia's St. Petersburg.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang informed Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he met in Russia's St. Petersburg, that China and Russia, maintaining cooperation during a complex period in the international order, are a rare element of stability in the world.
Li stated that they are ready to strengthen strategic communication with Russia, consolidate political trust, and expand cooperation in all areas, saying, "In today's world, unilateralism and hegemonism are spreading. China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Russia on important issues, work with Russia on multilateral platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS, and strengthen solidarity with Global South countries to protect common interests and justice."
Russian President Putin noted that this year, through several meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, they reached important agreements to advance comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership between the two countries in the new era. Emphasizing that China is a reliable partner for Russia, Putin stated that Russia-China relations are not affected by global fluctuations and third-party interventions.
Putin expressed their willingness to advance cooperation with China in areas such as energy, agriculture, space, civil nuclear energy, information technologies, artificial intelligence, transportation, and logistics, saying, "We support China's hosting of the 33rd APEC Leaders' Informal Meeting and its assumption of the BRICS Presidency in 2027."
