Russian President Vladimir Putin said, "The reason for protests in Europe is the governments' own mistakes."
Russian President Vladimir Putin made an assessment on the agenda to the country's media. Putin reacted to accusations that Russia 'provoked the protests' regarding the actions in Europe. Putin said, "To say that we provoked the mass demonstrations in Europe is an exaggeration. Instead of taking responsibility for the problems, the leaders of European countries blame other countries. This shows the weakness of some European leaders and their inability to take responsibility for what happened. The protests stem from the mistakes in the policies of European countries. Some immigrants cannot speak the language of the countries they have lived in for many years. The policies of European countries towards the Middle East also affect the reactions of immigrants coming from the region," he said.
Addressing the energy policies of European countries towards Russia, Putin stated that his country has never refused to supply energy resources to Europe. Reminding that the decision not to purchase Russian energy resources such as oil, natural gas, coal, and uranium was made by European countries, Putin said, "They gave up and are still planning to give up the products they continue to buy from Russia. Some foreign companies are also forced to leave the Russian market under the pressure of European governments," he said.
