Iran's Statement on the Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Chief of Staff Major General Ali Abdullahi stated, “Contrary to the U.S. President's claim that the Strait of Hormuz is open, this strategic waterway is completely closed and under the control of the Iranian Armed Forces.”

The Iranian press reported that Chief of Staff Major General Ali Abdullahi inspected military units along the Strait of Hormuz. During the inspection, Abdullahi stated that the Revolutionary Guards' land and naval forces have control over the shores of the Persian Gulf, the islands, and the Strait of Hormuz, and that the region is under surveillance.

Abdullahi, noting that the Iranian Armed Forces elements on the shores of the Persian Gulf, the islands, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Sea of Oman are at a higher state of readiness and equipped with modern technology compared to previous periods, said, “Contrary to the U.S. President's claims through media and propaganda that the Strait of Hormuz is open, this strategic waterway is completely closed and under the control of the Iranian Armed Forces. All ships attempting to pass through routes other than those determined by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz will be putting their own security at risk.”
