“Over the years, the Forum has become a key platform where world leaders gather to reflect on the importance of intercultural dialogue and to strengthen peace, security and solidarity on a global scale,” said Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), at the opening ceremony of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, held in Baku under the theme “Dialogue for a Shared Future.”
The OIC Secretary-General noted that the discussions in Baku would make a significant contribution to collective efforts to deepen mutual understanding, uphold human dignity, and build a safer, fairer and more inclusive world.
Touching upon Azerbaijan’s upcoming chairmanship of the organization, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said: “Mr. President, I am very pleased that you will lead our organization next year and that, under your leadership, we will be able to further strengthen our shared message of tolerance and inclusivity.”
