Former ambassador: I hope Thais will visit Shusha and Karabakh

“I hope that Thais will visit beautiful Azerbaijan – Baku, Nakhchivan, and, when it is ready to receive foreign tourists, Shusha and Karabakh. I have never been to Karabakh, but I would like to be there. I have already been to Nakhchivan and to Baku many times, and I would like to return to Azerbaijan again,” Former Ambassador of Thailand to Azerbaijan Apirat Sugondhabhirom told AZERTAC this while commenting on the opening of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Bangkok.

“Today, a very important historic event is taking place in relations and friendship between Thailand and Azerbaijan. I am very pleased to have the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Bangkok, and I am confident that Azerbaijan’s diplomatic mission in our capital Bangkok will further strengthen the existing good relations and friendship between the two countries,” the former diplomat said, adding that there is great potential that can be explored, promoted, and developed in political, economic and trade issues, people-to-people relations, tourism, cultural matters, and other areas: “There is much we can do together and build mutually beneficial relations.”

Apirat Sugondhabhirom continued: “I speak as a friend of Azerbaijan. I previously served as Thailand’s ambassador to Azerbaijan. I am retired, but my heart is still with Azerbaijan. Let us hope to work together to further strengthen the friendship between our countries.”
