“The Order of President Ilham Aliyev declaring 2024 as the ‘Green World Solidarity Year’ in Azerbaijan has served as the main guiding and conceptual document for all our activities. This political vision and strategic framework formed the foundation for the steps we took in preparing for COP29 and implementing its agenda,” said Narmin Jarchalova, Chairperson of the Board of the COP29 Operating Company, during the presentation ceremony of the special edition of the World of Diplomacy journal.

She noted that in anticipation of COP29, Azerbaijan consistently communicated its priorities in green energy transition, climate action, and sustainable development across various platforms, including international conferences, multilateral events, and bilateral meetings. This approach ensured a clearer understanding of the country’s position and its proper representation on the international agenda, she emphasized.

“Through these efforts, we have gained the trust and support of partner countries, international organizations, and global institutions. This backing has played a key role in the successful implementation of COP29 processes and in shaping the outcomes achieved,” Jarchalova added.
