The European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, announced that they have decided to end the sanctions on Syria's Interior and Defense ministers.

The European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, held a press conference following the EU Foreign Ministers Meeting in Brussels. Kallas stated that the EU foreign ministers have decided to fully reinstate the EU-Syria Cooperation Agreement, noting that this is an important indicator of normalization in bilateral relations. Kallas said, “At the same time, we have decided to lift the sanctions on Syria's Interior and Defense ministers.”
