A fire broke out in an apartment building located in the Yanfeng district of Hengyang city, in China's central Hunan province, around 03:00 local time. According to a statement from the local emergency management bureau, 5 people died and 2 were injured in the building where the fire occurred.
It was reported that the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment after being rescued from the building by emergency response teams who arrived at the scene. Authorities announced that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire that resulted in the loss of lives.
