In Nigeria, the number of people who have died from Lassa fever this year has risen to 190.
In a statement from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), it was reported that the number of deaths due to Lassa fever in the country has risen to 190 since January. The statement noted that the mortality rate linked to the Lassa outbreak in the country continues to increase, with the case fatality rate rising to 25.2% compared to 19.1% recorded in the same period last year.
