The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that it has partially closed its national airspace for one week as part of regional security measures following alleged attacks originating from Iran targeting the country's territories. Information regarding the matter was provided in a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) decision issued by UAE aviation authorities. It was noted that the FIR line (Flight Information Region) of Emirates Airlines would be partially closed from May 4 to May 11. Under the decision, commercial flights will only be allowed through designated special transit points and narrow corridors.
The UAE press also announced that education in all higher education institutions across the country will be conducted remotely for three days. In a statement from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the matter, it was stated that education in all higher education institutions in the country will be conducted 'temporarily as remote education from Tuesday, May 5 to Friday, May 8, 2026.'
