Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on his social media account that no official call has been made to Ukraine regarding the establishment of a ceasefire, emphasizing that they believe human life is far more valuable than any anniversary celebration. In this context, Zelenskiy announced that a ceasefire would be declared from midnight on the night connecting May 5 to May 6, stating, "It is a realistic expectation to maintain calm in the remaining time until that moment. From that moment on, we will act on the basis of reciprocity."
Sending a message to the Moscow administration, Zelenskiy remarked, "Especially when the Russian Ministry of Defense believes that a parade cannot be held in Moscow without Ukraine's goodwill, it is time for Russian leaders to take concrete steps to end the war."
