Cuba Reacts to US Secretary of State Rubio's Statements
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said, “US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statement that they have not imposed any oil embargo on Cuba is astonishing.”
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel criticized US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statements on social media, where Rubio claimed that they have not imposed any oil embargo on Cuba. Reminding Rubio of the Presidential Decree issued by US President Donald Trump on January 30, Diaz-Canel said, “It is surprising that Rubio is unaware of this. Similarly, it is astonishing that he has not heard the statements of his own president and the White House spokesperson on this matter.”
Diaz-Canel stated that the US is targeting the Cuban economy, saying, “Blaming the so-called incompetence of Cubans also creates similar astonishment. The US government has aimed to carry out this destruction by spending a large amount of resources and political capital to collapse the Cuban economy, and continues to aim for this today.”
