A boat accident occurred last night on the Yamuna River in the Hamirpur region of Uttar Pradesh, northern India. A boat carrying a family of nine, who were returning from a wedding ceremony and had gone to the opposite bank of the river to collect fruit, capsized due to heavy rain on the way back. According to a statement by local officials, 3 of the 9 people who fell into the water were rescued with their own efforts and the help of nearby fishermen.
As a result of the efforts of national and local search and rescue teams dispatched to the area, the bodies of 3 people, including one woman, were recovered. It was reported that search and rescue operations for the 3 missing children in the river are continuing with the participation of divers. Officials have urged the public to stay away from the riverbanks due to ongoing search activities and challenging conditions.
