The United Nations reported that '88 people were killed' in Israeli attacks on Lebanon over the weekend.
United Nations (UN) Secretary-General's Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric shared developments in the Middle East at the daily press briefing in New York. Dujarric noted that reports continue to come in regarding attacks affecting health services in the country, stating, “According to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, at least 88 people were reported killed over the weekend. According to the World Health Organization, an airstrike near Haram Hospital close to the city of Tyre resulted in at least 13 health personnel being injured and damage to the facility.”
Dujarric expressed that Israel's warnings of an imminent attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut are extremely concerning, stating that this situation further increases fear and uncertainty among the Lebanese people. Dujarric reiterated, “We emphasize once again that civilians and civilian infrastructure should not be targeted. We condemn all civilian casualties.”
