Death toll rises to 254 in Colombia earthquake
The death toll from the 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia has risen to 254.

The death toll continues to rise following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck at a depth of 96 kilometers in western Colombia on August 10. According to reports from affected cities, the number of people who lost their lives due to the earthquake has reached 254. It was noted that 101 of the deceased were in the coffee-producing region of Pereira, and 95 were in Cali, the country's third-largest city.

Following the earthquake, which damaged or completely destroyed approximately 1,600 buildings, more than 2,700 people have been reported missing. It was reported that families are turning to citizen-run websites to find information about their missing relatives. Search and rescue operations for those trapped under the rubble continue with the participation of cranes, excavators, and volunteers, while more than 100 aftershocks have been reported in the region.
