The death toll from two major earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 has reached 6,438.
According to the weekly report released by the government and announced by the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, the death toll from the earthquakes on June 24 increased by 137 compared to last week, reaching 6,438. It was reported that 6,462 people were rescued as part of the search and rescue operations, and medical intervention was provided to 86,358 people in hospitals.
It was stated that 335 homes have been delivered to families affected by the earthquake so far, and inspections have been conducted on 59,109 buildings to determine their safety. Of the evaluated buildings, 34,680 were deemed suitable for occupancy, access was restricted to 13,733, and 10,696 buildings were classified as high-risk.
