The United Arab Emirates announced that all trade and financial transactions with Iran have been halted until further notice.
In a statement made by Afra al-Hamili, Director of the Strategic Communication Department of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was reported that all trade and financial processes between the two countries have been suspended, addressing claims about economic relations. Al-Hamili stated that this decision was made due to the escalation threatening regional and international peace and security, reiterating the UAE's commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and regional integration as fundamental tools for advancing regional peace, stability, and prosperity. Al-Hamili emphasized the UAE's determination to protect the integrity of the international financial system in accordance with international law and the highest global standards.
The decision came after the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that two ballistic missiles originating from Iran were detected. UAE officials reported that one of the missiles, targeting navigation traffic, fell outside territorial waters, while the other fell within UAE territorial waters, with no casualties or damage reported in the incident.
